VACANCIES for August 2008

1. Secondary Visual Arts
2. Secondary Food Technology

The art teacher will take over a thriving visual arts programme, which culminates in the IB Diploma, in a one teacher department with responsibility for the development of art generally in the school.

The food technology teacher will take over the successful Food Technology programme in Years 7 – 11. A second subject, such as French, Music, ICT or EAL, will be an advantage.

Founded in 1995 and sponsored by the British Embassy, the British School of Quito is a not-for-profit foundation delivering the National Curriculum of England and the IB Diploma programme. Although we are a British School by virtue of our curriculum, we seek and welcome applications from teachers of varying backgrounds and experiences and not just from Britain.

We are a friendly, caring school and seek flexible, enthusiastic and committed professionals with cultural awareness ready to join our team and contribute to our growth and development. Curricular or extra-curricular talent and willingness to take on additional responsibilities will be positively viewed.

Letter of application with cv and email or telephone contact details of three referees should be sent by email to Daryl Barker, Director. The final closing date for applications is 16 June. However, we may appoint a suitable candidate before then should one emerge and will make our first short-list from applications received by 31 May.

Speculative applications are also invited at any time of year as we like to keep interested candidates on file. We normally attend SEARCH or CIS February Recruitment Centres.
