INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
Post-16 Education at The British School Quito
The post-16 programme at the BSQ is tailored to meet the following criteria:
Develop self-confidence, leadership and social awareness in all our students
Providing students with the skills needed to succeed in the worlds of further
education and business.
The British School Quito Diploma
All students follow the British School Quito Diploma programme. This meets all
the requirements of the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education. Students achieving
their BSQ Diploma will also receive the Ecuadorian Baccalaureate.
The International Baccalaureate
As part of the BSQ Diploma students may also take the full International Baccalaureate
Diploma or Bi-lingual Diploma, or take certificates in IB subjects.
We currently offer the following subjects at IB, higher level and standard level:
English A1, A2 and B
Spanish A1, A2, B and Ab Inicio
Geography History
Information technology in a Global Society (ITGS)
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Mathematics
Mathematical studies
Visual Art
Students also complete an extended essay, learn about Theory of Knowledge and
undertake 150 hours of Creativity, Action and Service in the local community (CAS).
